'We just love you, Mississippi’: Mike Sands’ family shares special message after son’s passing

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - WLBT and FOX40 welcomed some very special guests Friday.

Mike Sands’ parents and his beautiful baby girl stopped by the studio all the way from Philadelphia to say ‘hello’ and ‘thank you.’

Here’s a message from Mike’s father, David:

“I’m just grateful that his FOX family has enabled me to come down here and to say ‘thank you’ to the state of Mississippi for the love and the outpouring and the prayers and support that they gave us during this hard time with Mike... Mississippi, we just love you Mississippi. The support, the letters that we got from senior citizen places, the churches, individual families, all signs, the little things. It was beautiful and it helped us to get through this hard time.”

Mike Sands passed away in October after a long fight with cancer.

He was 34.
