500+ free trees up for grabs in Louisville again – how to get yours
For the third time, a Louisville nonprofit's partnership is giving away hundreds of free trees.
TreesLouisville is giving away 560 trees through Community Canopy, an Arbor Day Foundation program that uses strategic tree planting to help conserve energy.
The program has already given away nearly 2,500 trees to the Louisville community in the past year.
To reserve a tree, visit arborday.org/treeslouisville. In the application, you'll be able to get an estimate on the energy you'll save from planting the tree.
Residents can either reserve a 3-gallon container tree to be picked up at Portland Presbyterian on April 4 or have a 1-gallon container tree shipped to their home.
The available trees include blackgum, sycamore, tulip poplar, bald cypress and swamp white oak.
