In-person computer use returning to 4 Louisville library locations
Four Louisville libraries are resuming in-person public computer use next week.The announcement was made Thursday by Mayor Greg Fischer and Louisville Free Public Library Director Lee Burchfield.The library locations have been slowly returning to normal amid the coronavirus pandemic. City officials said they consulted with the state's guidelines to reopen the four locations for computer use only:Main Library on Monday.Southwest, South Central and Northeast on Tuesday.Library officials said book browsing and using other materials will still not be allowed at the locations that reopen for computer use.Furniture and computer stations have been reconfigured to ensure enough physical distancing amid current COVID-19 mitigation measures.Masks and temperature checks will be required to enter library facilities. Masks will be available for people who arrive without one.Computer use at the four locations will be by appointment only and restricted to 90 minutes per day, officials said. There will be limited free printing and faxing services will also be available by appointment.People can start making appointments Monday by calling the particular location.As a reminder, all library locations are offering limited curbside service of library materials, six days a week.More information about appointments can be found online.
