Property taxes are going up around Louisville Metro.The Metro Council gave final approval to a 4 percent increase Thursday night.The council was waiting for state approval over the new property value assessments to figure out how much to raise rates.Jefferson County residents will see their property tax rise by $2.30 for every $100,000 in property value.Urban Services District residents will see a $3.70 hike.Even with the increase, property tax rates are still lower than they were before the city-county merger.
