Supporters, protesters demonstrate during Donald Trump's visit to Louisville
Despite major road closures throughout Louisville on Wednesday people still made their way downtown to either protest or show their support to President Donald Trump.
The LMPD maintained a large police presence at both the Galt house and the Seelbach all day long.
The day started peaceful with protesters gathering on one side of the street and supporters on the other but it eventually turned into a confrontation as the groups waited for the president's arrival. Officers had to remove two people from the crowd after things got physical between a supporter and a protester.
Supporters say they believe the president has done a good job on the economy and foreign policy.
Protesters, on the other hand, say they're opposed to the president's policies on immigration and LGBT issues.
"I think the fact that they have a draft dodger coming to speak at a veterans event is really hypocritical and doesn't sit well with me especially when he's defunded healthcare for veterans and other benefits for veterans," said protester Marta Martin.
No one was arrested during Wednesday's events.
