UPDATE: The Lansing Police have released the name of a suspect in connection with an armed robbery of a Quality Dairy store last night.
Zakee Garrett, 18, of Lansing has been charged with Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Interfering with Electronic communications and Resisting/Obstructing/Assaulting a police officer.
He is being held without bond and is expected to in court Febraury 22.
ORIGINAL STORY: One man is facing charges today after attempting to rob a Quality Dairy store in southwest Lansing.
Lansing Police tell 6 News that officers were called to the Quality Dairy at 5100 S. Waverly just before 11:00 p.m. Thursday night.
When officers arrived they approached a man and a woman who were leaving the store.
The man appeared to be carrying a rifle, which he dropped when he began running from police.
The woman was a Quality Dairy employee who was apparently forced to walk out of the store with the suspect after he demanded money.
The 18-year-old Lansing man was quickly arrested and is expected to be arraigned this afternoon.
There were no injuries.
