If you’re looking for a safe way to get rid of important documents after Tax Day, Friedland Industries is hosting it’s annual Document Destruction Day in Lansing this Saturday.

The event is free.

In preparation for Earth Day organizers encourage people and businesses throughout Greater Lansing to bring old tax and other sensitive documents to Friedland to be shredded for free.

Organizers say you also have the opportunity to stick around and watch as your important documents are shredded and processed for recycling back into new paper.

“These items include anything identifying such as social security numbers, signitures account numbers anything that indentifies a document as your personally,” says Tiffany DeBruin, Owner/Attorney at DeBruin Law PLLC.

The event is happening Saturday from 8AM-2PM at Friedland Industries on East Maple Street in Lansing.
