Some lanes on a busy intersection in Columbia are set to close for repairs.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation will be closing lanes on Gervais street from Millwood Avenue to Oak Street beginning Thursday morning.
The department says the lanes will be closing for emergency repairs to a drainage system that has been damaged.
A detour from the department will be in place using North Millwood, Taylor Street and Harden Street.
Eastbound Gervais Street will remain open.
The department anticipates that the lanes will be reopened on June 18, barring delays due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
