Two arrested on numerous drug charges in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police arrested two people on drug charges in the unit block of S. New Street Friday afternoon.

Just after 5 p.m., officers observed 25-year-old Khalil Hanzer and 25-year-old Tiffiny Melton in the area going to and from a vehicle while moving items inside of it. It was known that Hanzer had an active capias out of two courts and a warrant from the Dover PD on unrelated charges.

On contact with the two suspects, police found 30 ecstasy pills, 175.3 grams of marijuana, and a large folding knife (larger than 3″ blade) inside the vehicle.

Hanzer was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver MDMA, possession of MDMA (tier 2 qty), possession of marijuana, tampering with physical evidence, carry concealed deadly weapon, conspiracy second degree, and drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $16,500 secured bond.

Melton was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana, conspiracy second degree, and drug paraphernalia. She was released on $8,500 unsecured bond.
