UPDATE: Fatal crash in Dover under investigation, victim identified

DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that happened in Dover Wednesday morning.

Police say at around 6 a.m., a Nissan Sentra was traveling south on Brenford Road approaching Mt. Friendship Road when it failed to negotiate a slight curve in the road, veering off the west edge of the road. The vehicle then reportedly hit a standing tree.

The driver of the Sentra, identified as 19-year-old Deshawn L. Price Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was properly restrained at the time of the crash.

The roadway was closed for approximately 3.5 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared. Investigation is ongoing.
