Police: two arrested on drug, gun charges in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested two people on multiple charges following a home visit on Tuesday.

Officers were conducting the home visit on 23-year-old Javon Pollard, who was a pre-trial service probationer on pending charges. Pollard and 23-year-old Shyasia Hood were seen inside a vehicle in front of their apartment building, and when officers made contact with them, a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.

A search warrant was obtained for the apartment, resulting in the seizure of 22.6 grams of crack cocaine, a .22 caliber handgun, .22 caliber ammunition, 17 grams of marijuana, and $2,500 in drug money. Both suspects were taken into custody.

Pollard was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, three counts of possession of a firearm/ammo by person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, second degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation. He was held at SCI on a $67,000 cash bond.

Hood was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, three counts of possession of a firearm/ammo by person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, second degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. She was held at the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $67,000 bond.
