Three arrested following Dover traffic stop

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police say a traffic stop led to charges for three men Tuesday evening.

We’re told that officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of West Division Street and S. DuPont Highway just before 8:30 p.m. As officers approached the vehicle, they could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle, and subsequently conducted a search.

A loaded handgun with an extended magazine, 2.1 grams of marijuana, 9 doses of ecstasy, and $460 in drug money were all located inside the vehicle, and all three occupants were taken into custody.

The driver, 30-year-old Girard Gregory, was charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, second degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. He was held at SCI on a $36,200 secured bond.

31-year-old Mykal Dempster was charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession of firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, second degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation. He was held at SCI on a $43,100 secured bond.

45-year-old Charles Jackson was released on a civil violation for possession of marijuana.
