Don't be confused or concerned if you see a Cumberland police cruiser with Massachusetts license plates. The department says it really is one of their cruisers.The department has ordered a new 2020 Ford Interceptor cruiser, but delivery has been delayed due to a faulty part and factory shutdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic.For now, the department is using a loaner cruiser to help reduce the strain on Cumberland's small fleet. That loaner vehicle has Massachusetts plates. It is also outfitted with emergency lights, siren, and radio and is properly marked.
