Maine creates signs telling travelers to self-quarantine
The Maine Department of Transportation is making special signs that tell travelers they must self-quarantine due to the coronavirus outbreak.The Maine DOT said the signs will be placed across the state in response to the order Gov. Janet Mills issued on April 3.The order mandates all travelers coming to the state self-quarantine for 14 days to limit the spread of the coronavirus.People who are providing essential services to the state are exempt from the order the governor said.Mills' order also suspended lodging operations, including hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, inns, and short-term rentals such as those available through VRBO, Airbnb, RV parks and campgrounds, and all public and private camping facilities as well as online reservations.The order is in effect through April.Violators face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
