Maine DEA agents have arrested two people from Massachusetts accused of trafficking drugs across New England.
Luiz Ortiz, 24 of Lowell, Massachusetts, and Tatiana Rosado, 27 of Lowell, Massachusetts, are accused of trafficking heroin and fentanyl.
Authorities say the pair met undercover agents with the Cumberland District Task Force in a parking lot in South Portland and handed off 213 grams of suspected heroin and fentanyl.
Maine State Police said the average street price for heroin and fentanyl in southern Maine is $160 per gram.
Ortiz had additional drugs on him at the time of the arrest.
Both are being held on $25,000 bond.
State police credit Scarborough and South Portland police for helping in the arrests.
