Maine faces elevated fire danger on Monday

Many communities are banning burning for the day

Thanks for watching. I'm meteorologist Jacqueline Thomas heading through the day today. Beautiful conditions. We've got widespread sunshine and mild temperatures to as highs climb into the upper fifties, close to 60 degrees in some spots today Through tonight, lows drop back into the mid 30. So not bad as we head overnight, we should say mainly clear tonight as we head into Tuesday, I expect another dry day, even Wednesday ends up mainly dry. I think the best chance for a shower Wednesday will be to the South, but Thursday that's when we're tracking our next opportunity for some widespread rain or even snow showers. But the storm tracker for these next two days, a gorgeous day today, shaping up and, of course, a clear night expected to. As we head into Tuesday, I think we still see a good amount of sunshine tomorrow, especially across southern Maine. As you head further north and east, you'll encounter a few more clouds tomorrow, but still a beautiful day. With those mild temperatures Tuesday night, we could also see a few more clouds moving in, especially to the south, and we will see some rains scooting by just to our south to. So again, I think your county has the best opportunity to see any shower activity early Wednesday. Then, as we head into Thursday, more clouds building and we will see that next system approaching. That could bring that widespread chance for some rain and snow showers Mixing in today, though, that sunshine a warmer day. Breezy at times but temperatures coming close to 60 degrees tonight. Lows drop back into the thirties under mainly clear skies. A break moon out there tonight, similar to what we saw into early today. The eight day forecast as we head through these next several days talking about those showers to our south Wednesday and then that storm system Thursday. So impact weather on that day and that could linger into Friday, with temperatures then back in the forties.
