Maine teenager injured in rollover had left scene of earlier crash, officials say
A Stonington teenager was seriously injured after a rollover crash in Franklin on Saturday night, officials said.According to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Jared Murphy, 18, was traveling on Route 182 in his truck when he attempted to pass a car.Murphy struck the car, sending it off the road.He then allegedly failed to stop at the accident and continued about five miles down the road where he lost control of his truck and rolled it several times into a field.Officials said he was ejected and suffered possible life-threatening injuries.He was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.Officials said the crash is still under investigation but alcohol and speed are both believed to be factors.
