Tropical Storm Isaias left a trail of damage across New Hampshire, and many Granite Staters are headed into their second night without power.
Some could be without power for a few days.
"The damage is significant, and we're still assessing the damage, and we'll have crews working around the clock until all customers are restored," said William Hinkle, of Eversource.
Eversource officials said the Monadnock Region was hit particularly hard.
"We were hearing of damage as far away as the Vermont border and beyond," said Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard. "We had a lot of wind, a lot of rain. Phones were ringing constantly.
Eversource officials said they tried to get help from other power crews from other states, but with the amount of damage up and down the East Coast, help was hard to find.
The utility said there are 550 line, tree and service workers repairing the damage, but there are delays because of COVID-19.
"We continue to follow our pandemic protocols, which include enhanced social distancing, hygiene guidelines for all our employees," Hinkle said. "Those conditions may result in restoration taking longer than expected."
Hinkle said full restoration might take until Friday afternoon.
