State and federal money is being allocated to help the dairy farm industry in New Hampshire.
Local dairy farms have faced significant challenges during the pandemic. Many at one point had to dump milk that would normally go to schools and restaurants.
Now, state agriculture commissioner Shawn Jasper said the combined funding will bring $4.7 million to New Hampshire dairies.
"Definitely going to be a huge help for us. It's going to change things going forward, to help out with the finances going through the summer. It's definitely a help, and it helps to catch up for the last couple of months that we lost money on the dump milk," Kris May of Hatchland Farm in North Haverhill said.
May said the situation has been improving thanks to home deliveries, food bank purchases and pick-up school lunch programs.
