New York senator quadruples NH staffing ahead of Friday, Saturday return visit

STAFF GROWING. With New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand planning a return visit to New Hampshire on Friday and Saturday, her state campaign organization is quadrupling the size of its paid staff – from two to eight. New Hampshire Primary Source has learned that joining state director Shannon MacLeod and communications director Sarah Guggenheimer are:-- Maggie Seppi as organizing director. Seppi previously was involved in successful Democratic efforts to break a Republican supermajority in the North Carolina Legislature. She previously worked for the Hillary Clinton campaign in Iowa and Virginia and began organizing in 2014 with Sen. Kay Hagan's reelection campaign in North Carolina. Hagan lost that narrow election to Sen. Thom Tillis.-- Casey Neal as a deputy political director. Neal has been involved in local politics since 2013, working in finance and operations primarily in New Mexico and Maryland before moving to New Hampshire in 2018. Most recently, she served as the organizing director on former Executive Councilor Colin Van Ostern's race for New Hampshire Secretary of State.Neal is a member of the finance committee of the New Hampshire Young Democrats and was recently elected vice president of political affairs for the Manchester Young Democrats.-- Nadia Jaferey as a deputy political director. A lifelong Nashua resident, Jaferey has been involved in New Hampshire politics since she volunteered on then-President Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign. She is a former president of the Greater Nashua Young Democrats, and most recently was campaign manager for Cindy Rosenwald’s successful bid to represent Nashua in the New Hampshire State Senate. -- Katie Whittington as digital organizing director. She was most recently deputy organizing director for the Connecticut Democratic Party. A Florida native, Whittington has organized for several campaigns in her home state, including congressional candidate Stephanie Murphy in 2016.-- Nick Fulchino as a regional organizing director. A May graduate of Saint Anselm College, he was an was an organizing fellow on Hillary Clinton’s New Hampshire primary campaign in 2016, as a college freshman. Fulchino has since worked on local races in his home state of Connecticut, most recently as a regional organizing director for Eva Bermúdez Zimmerman’s campaign for lieutenant governor. -- Reshard el-Shair as a regional organizing director. He worked on organizing efforts in North Carolina and in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District. Annie Kuster, another Dartmouth graduate, at Murphy’s on the Green, 11 S. Main St.On Saturday, Gillibrand will participate in a “Family Bill of Rights, Rural OBGYN Roundtable at the New London Hospital at 9:30 a.m. She will visit downtown New London with state Rep. Karen Ebel at 11 a.m. and attend a “Rural Pride” celebration at 9 Bernard Way, Claremont, at 1:30 p.m.
