Raleigh police radio traffic and 911 calls reveal some detail into the fatal officer-involved shooting late Saturday night at a shopping center off Rogers Lane.

A 911 call made by a security guard at the Sheetz reports a man they called about trespassing earlier was back.

“I’m trying to watch him on video. He may be leaving. It looks like there’s an officer on our lot,” the 911 caller said.

The 911 dispatcher asked if any weapons were mentioned to which the caller said, “They weren’t mentioned.”

A second 911 recording is from a person who said they ran into the Food Lion with their daughter amid the incident.

“Yes, sir. They were on a call that went bad. So we’ve got everyone in route to help,” the dispatcher said.

A recording of police radio traffic reveals officers were looking for a male wearing a green hat who they believe has moved over to the Food Lion from the Sheetz.

About 3:30 into the recording, an officer says “he’s got a knife.”

An officer then asks for an ambulance and reports shots fired.

“He’s armed with a knife. He pulled a knife,” the officer reports.

An officer says the “suspect is down” and multiple shots had been fired.

Raleigh police said 30-year-old Soheil Mojarrad died in the shooting.

The SBI is investigating the incident.
