• Family Fun Day begins at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 at Alumni Field in Wilmington. Support Hurricane athletes and support and meet the youth cheer and football teams. • Eagles Auxiliary Annual Caring for Kids Car Show is Saturday, Aug. 24 from noon to 4 p.m. featuring food, a bake sale, door prizes, 50/50, and music. The evening dance follows from 8 p.m.-midnight. For the car show all makes and models are welcome; there is a $250 cash giveaway and first 50 receive dash plaques. The Fraternal Order of Eagles is located at 141 E. Sugartree St., Wilmington.

• Clinton County Farmers Market 8:30 a.m.-noon Downtown Wilmington on Mulberry Street. Chef Jaime of Out of Thyme Kitchen Studio in Montgomery will be demonstrating favorite recipes using local produce/meats from 9:30- 11:45 a.m. brought to you by Healthsource of Ohio. Eric Guindon, Director of CCYC, will be present to discuss programs at CCYC for youth and will have disc golf for kids and “kids at heart” to play. Clinton County Health District Laura Knisley, diabetic educator and RN, along with Health District staff will be present to discuss managing diabetes and high blood pressure along with offering free blood pressures.

• Ice Cream Social for the public with proceeds benefiting the Wilmington Savings Bank Clinton County Senior Center is 4-7 p.m. Saturday. Aug. 24 at the center at 717 N. Nelson Ave. Pressed chicken sandwiches, BBQ pork sandwiches, hot dogs, deserts, coffee, tea and lemonade.

• Public invited to fish fry (carryout or dine-in) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Quinn Chapel AME Church basement, 50 North Lincoln St., Wilmington. Suggested donation $7. • Frazier Family Cut-A-Thon is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25 at The Cutting Room Salon & Day Spa, 113 N. South St. The goal is to raise $2,000 to help support a local family — Jon and Mykayla Frazier and their four children. The Cutting Room will be offering haircuts or wash-and-blow-dry from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for a $20 cash/check donation. They will also be offering brow tint and wax from 8 a.m.-noon for $20 cash/check donation.

Monday, Aug. 26

• Clinton County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 in the meeting room of the Historical Center. The program will share some of the surprising results of DNA tracking via genealogical websites.

• Audiobook Mondays at the Clinton-Massie Branch Library. From 2:30-5 p.m. the library will play a selected audiobook for kids. This is a great opportunity to introduce your child to various forms of literature and encourage their reading skills.
