City of Jacksonville offers free antibody testing at Lot J

Jacksonville, FL — The City of Jacksonville is offering free COVID-19 antibody testing for adults at Lot J outside of TIAA Bank Field.

The drive-through site will offer up to 125 tests per day. Results will be provided on-site.

Anyone 18 years or older can get tested at Lot J; you do not have to live in Duval County. You are required to bring a photo ID and provide additional information on-site.

Action News Jax Reporter Elizabeth Pace got tested Thursday to show the process. From start to finish, it took nearly two hours before she got her results. She went at about 2 p.m. and mostly waited in line, while remaining in her car at all times. She was asked to give some of her personal information: full name, address and date of birth.

Health care workers asked her if she could have come in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19, if she traveled outside of her county or internationally, and her occupation.

Pace was given a throat swab test and gave a small blood sample. Results for the blood sample took approximately 15 minutes.

This tests checks your blood for COVID-19 antibodies. If a person is infected with the virus, the body produces antibodies, which will show up on the test.

Lot J is open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
