HEREFORDSHIRE'S MPs joined others from across the country yesterday to cast their indicative votes as another batch of Brexit proposals were put to Parliament.

The four options on the table yesterday were a UK-wide customs union with the EU, remaining in the European single market and seeking a temporary customs union with the EU, holding a public vote to confirm any withdrawal agreement agreed by parliament, and giving MPs the power to block leaving with no deal by cancelling Brexit.

A staunch supporter of Mrs May's deal, Jesse Norman, MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire, voted against all four proposals.

Whilst Bill Wiggin, MP for North Herefordshire, did not cast any vote on three of the available options, choosing only to vote against Ken Clarke's proposal for a customs union.

Speaking on March 29, the North Herefordshire MP said that he could not support a customs union, as it would keep Britain in the EU.

"I promised to vote to get us out of the EU and I am doing all I can to honour that promise," Mr Wiggin said.

All four proposals were defeated in Parliament.
