WORCESTER Hockey Club men's firsts moved off the bottom of the table by winning their final Midland League Division One game of the season 3-2.

Opponents Edgbaston went ahead against the run of play but Worcester quickly levelled when Ben Cooke’s pass found Matt Gardner sliding in at the back post.

Despite Worcester's defence being marshalled well by Matt Kettley, after a succession of penalty corners Edgbaston fired a drag flick into the top corner to regain the lead.

But Worcester fought back immediately again with Ben Dalton finding Ben Martin to slap home a dinked finish.

Then a swift break saw Cooke storm down on his reverse side to hammer home his first goal of the season.

With huge determination and a couple of saves from keeper Tom Dalton, Worcester held on to move off the bottom ahead of Edgbaston and they are both set to stay up for next season.

The seconds drew 3-3 at Bridgnorth after hitting back from 3-0 down with Rob Goodman (2) scoring and Chris Whitmore levelling in the final seconds.

Worcester thirds avoided relegation after beating visitors Sutton Coldfield 3-1 thanks to Billy Forrester-Walker, Brett Pittam and James Quinn.

The fourths won 4-1 at Harborne with Matthew Sharratt (2), Malcolm Evans and Simon Griffiths on target.

Worcester fifths lost 4-0 at home to Harborne, the sixths fell 6-1 to Stratford with a goal from Azzie Molla and the sevenths went down 4-1 to Kings Heath Pickwick with a Dom Stokes strike.

All the women’s teams won with the firsts triumphing 3-2 at Stratford in their final Midland Feeder West game of the season.

Their first goal was a deflection from a Helen Barnes strike followed by a lobbed goal from Holly Smith.

Barnes got her second and the winner with just 30 seconds left.

The seconds are close to being crowned Worcestershire League Division One champions after seeing off Kings Heath Pickwick 8-1.

Jo Baggs (2), Claire Hayes (2), Ely Sheppard (2), Katie Ralph and Libby Wycherley netted for the leaders.

Worcester thirds beat Bromsgrove 1-0 through a goal from Caitlin Lane in her first adult game.

The fourths held on for a 3-2 home win over Redditch with Kerry Lawrence, Liv Fletcher and Phoebe March scoring.

Worcester Badgers Pippins maintained their 16-game unbeaten run dating back to November.

They beat Evesham 11-0 thanks to Jacob Dorman, Zac Goodman, Bryony Gillgrass (3), Harry Dorman, Fin Goodman, Theo Copson, Ava Thornley and Will Barnes.
