BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVNS) – Interested in the great outdoors and law enforcement?
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is hiring. They have a physical agility test scheduled for anyone interested in applying for positions open statewide. Those tests are scheduled Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, and will be conducted at the South Charleston Community Center starting at 9 a.m.
Applicants should bring long-pants and a shirt for the swimming test, and a change of clothes for the other tests. DNR officer, Captain W.W Brogan III, explained this job is not for everyone.
“If you like being in law enforcement and you think you would like to be outdoors, you do not have a problem with being out in the cold or the rain, be out working by yourself in remote areas, this is the job for you,” Brogan said.
The minimum qualifications to apply for a position is a degree from a four year college or university. Candidates may also substitute previous employment as a certified law enforcement officer. Applicants have until April 24 to submit their applications.
