Flames erupt at detached apartment garage units in Omaha

Omaha firefighters raced to an apartment complex off Interstate 680 at Maple Street on Thursday night to douse flames at detached apartment garage units.
Fire officials said heavy smoke and flames engulfed several bays of a 12-bay apartment garage near 105th Plaza and Bedford Avenue. After a short time, firefighters managed to douse the flames.
No injuries were reported, and no residents were displaced, according to an Omaha Fire Department news release.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the release states.
