PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A large police presence, including SWAT officers, responded to reports of a home invasion in Providence late Friday morning.

Police were called to the area of Tell and Knight Streets around 11:30 a.m.

According to Providence police chief, Col. Hugh Clements, armed intruders forced their way into 64 Tell Street while two adults were inside.

“A couple shots fired,” Clements said. “Nobody was hit, nobody was struck.”

He said the two suspects are at large and that the house was specifically targeted.

Clements says one suspect may have fled the scene on a motorcycle.
