Duke, UNC, NC State, Davidson top new list of best colleges in North Carolina

To help with some of those decisions, WalletHub today released its 2020 Best College & University Rankings. To create the list, WalletHub, according to a press release, compared more than 1,000 higher-education institutions in the United States based on 33 key measures grouped into seven categories, such as student selectivity, cost and financing and career outcomes. Here's how N.C. colleges fared.
Top 10 Colleges & Universities in North Carolina
10. Meredith College
Across all colleges and universities, Duke, UNC and NC State did well. Overall, Duke came in at No. 7 and UNC was No. 10 and also the top public school in WalletHub's ranking.
Duke, UNC and NC State also placed in the top 10 of some of the individual categories.
- Duke came in first for admission rate, student-faculty ratio, gender and racial diversity, graduation rate and post-attendance median salary.
- Carolina took third place for admission rate, graduation rate and post-attendance median salary.
- And NC State came in fifth for graduation rate and fourth for post-attendance median salary.
