Fullsteam Brewery was honored for its Farm's Edge: Barrel-Aged Ava, a collaboration with Illinois' Scratch Brewing.

This is the seventh Good Food Award win for Fullsteam, making it the one of the most-awarded breweries in the Good Food Awards' history. Fullsteam is the only North Carolina brewery to win a Good Food Award.

Farm's Edge was brewed with all North Carolina ingredients including wild grape leaves collected by Scratch’s team while traveling to Durham and North Carolina elderflower foraged by both breweries.

The beer rested for more than a year, starting in stainless tanks before being moved to red wine barrels.

"This beer was a labor of love … a love for the land and for the brewing process,” Fullsteam Chief Executive Optimist Sean Lilly Wilson said “I’m deeply grateful to Marika, Aaron and David (of Scratch) for collaborating with us. I’m especially proud of how this beer combines our love of foraging with our passion to support North Carolina farmers and maltsters.”

On Saturday, Feb. 1, Fullsteam will tap its final keg of Farm's Edge. From 2 p.m to 5 p.m. that day, the brewery will host a mini-marketplace featuring other North Carolina Good Food Award winners and finalists.
