"We are the Augusta Pimento Cheese": GreenJackets change name for one weekend only

(WRDW/WAGT) -- "Welcome friends, we are the Augusta Pimento Cheese."

The Augusta GreenJackets, for one weekend only, will take on the name of Augusta National's famed cheese sandwich.

Why?

"The GreenJackets sought a new team name to highlight a signature staple piece of the CSRA, the Pimento Cheese. The re-brand features a new Pimento Cheese logo and custom Pimento Cheese uniforms."

Don't worry - there will be merchandise sold both online and in the Hive Pro Shop.

The change will be for just two nights, August 2nd and 3rd.

The team also says: "these nights will include different food selections with pimento cheese, pimento cheese in-game promotions and then on Saturday, August 3rd, the GreenJackets will host the Pimento Cheese player jersey auction with proceeds going to benefit Walton Options for Independent Living."
