AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- You can see lots of work being done at North Augusta High School where construction has been going on for two years.

Now the end to that work is in sight.

Day by day, brick by brick, North Augusta's new wing of classrooms is starting to blend in.

"It's been a while and I'm kind of excited to see it."

"The classroom that we're getting is really going to be one of these state of the art classrooms."

Daniela Elvira and Will Livingston are both juniors here and say administrators have been talking about this since their freshman year.

"Oh gosh, I can't even remember how long they've been talking about constructing this one."

"I spoke with our general contractor and they have their final inspection tomorrow."

Shawn Foster with the school district says they'll be done here by February 1st.

Aiken High which is also getting a new fine arts wing done April 1st.

And walls are going up at Ridge Spring Monetta, where they're getting en entirely new building.

"All of our schools now have the common technology infrastructure."

Getting the technology uniform is key, he says, so all students have the same access.

"We're really excited about that I'm already planning my classes around things to be able to use the new technology."

"That's the most exciting part hearing those conversations seeing the excited looks on students' faces."

North Augusta still has one last phase left for gyms and fine arts.

Another important requirement is making sure their schools have a little extra space to expand with parts of the county growing fast.
