AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW/WAGT) -- Over twenty kilos of cocaine with a street value of $825,000 were seized from an Augusta warehouse following a weekend raid, according to the U.S Attorney's Office.

Jimmy Alexander Pujols, 35, and Fausto Mendez Ramos, 40, are charged in a federal complaint with conspiracy charges related to the seizure, U.S. Attorney Bobby Christine said.

Details surrounding the seizure remain limited, but Christine said federal agents served a search warrant at the warehouse on 702 Laney Walker Boulevard and located a shipping container with the cocaine that had been transported from the Port of Savannah.

“The nation’s major investment in the Port of Savannah has deepened the channel while broadening the intensity of law enforcement scrutiny at the facility,” Christine said in a statement. “With our federal, state and local partners, we have renewed and strengthened our resolve to prevent the gateway to our nation’s commerce from being used as an entry point for illegal drug and human trafficking.”

The case remains under investigation.
