Augusta car chase ends with a crash in Bojangles

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Richmond County Sheriff's Office became involved in a car chase after a black SUV almost hit a deputy's patrol car in South Augusta.

It happened on Tobacco Road around 9 p.m. The driver refused to pull over, leading deputies on a chase.

Investigators say the driver lost control of his car at Tobacco Road and Mike Padget Hwy. The driver drove the black SUV inside the Bojangles restaurant, making a hole in the wall.

Deputies say the suspect ran away and was arrested a block away. They say there were no injuries during the incident.

The suspect's name has not been released yet.
