RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The James Center was filled on Friday with large crowds of people celebrating the holidays at Richmond’s 34th annual Grand Illumination!

Once again, 8News proudly teamed up with the James Center to bring joy to the people who came.

While guests enjoyed the festivities, which included plenty of family fun, the 8News team welcomed those at the event to the James Center.

8News helped count down the final seconds before all of the downtown office buildings’ lights and the James Center’s Great Tree and reindeer were turned on.

‘Good Shot Judy’ provided the swingin’ big band hits during this year’s feature performance. Other performances included Silly Bus and the Richmond Ballet cast of The Nutcracker.

The EnRichmond Foundation also partnered with the James Center for an after party after the event. The party, which included plenty of music, food and entertainment, took place at Kanawha Plaza.
