A symposium was held in Charleston to help the people of West Virginia gather information about the legalization of marijuana.

The United States Attorney's office helped sponsor the event and invited people on both sides of the issue to help them better understand the issue.

Mike Stuart, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia, said the goal is always to inform the people and help them make decisions.

"I'm a huge fan of facts. I believe in the public," Stuart said. "The public's pretty smart. If we give the public the information, we give decision makers true information, not information that is pushed forward by the lobbyists from either, either particular side. We're going to end up in a better place in West Virginia."
