Kirk Jay dedicates ‘The Voice’ performance to Montgomery girl battling leukemia
MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The top 8 contestants competed on NBC’s “The Voice” Monday night, including Montgomery’s very own, Kirk Jay. He dedicated his song to another Montgomery resident, Courtney Pruitt.
Courtney was diagnosed with leukemia in April. Jay performed “I Swear” by John Michael Montgomery, telling her father Glen Pruitt, a Montgomery city councilman, that he was singing for her.
Jay also sang a blend of Jason Aldean’s “She’s Country” and Brantley Gilbert’s “Country Must Be Country Wide” with fellow contestant Chevel Shepherd.
America is voting now, and they will decide who stays for the top 4 in the finale.
The results will be revealed Tuesday night on “The Voice.”
