RICHMOND, Va. – There are now 86,072 cases of the coronavirus in Virginia as of July 27.

Monday’s total of 86,072 marks an increase from Sunday’s total of 84,567 cases.

  • 151 new cases in Fairfax County
  • 122 new cases in Prince William County
  • 95 new cases in Chesapeake
  • 94 new cases in Loudoun County
  • 81 new cases in Henrico County
  • 50 new cases in Newport News and Richmond
  • 43 new cases in Hampton
  • 40 new cases in Alexandria
  • 36 new cases in Chesterfield County
  • 34 new cases in Suffolk
  • 31 new cases in Lynchburg
  • 24 new cases in Portsmouth
  • 22 new cases in Danville
  • 21 new cases in Pittsylvania County
  • 19 new cases in Spotsylvania County
  • 17 new cases in Stafford County
  • 16 new cases in Arlington County
  • 15 new cases in Campbell County and Montgomery County

As of Monday, the Virginia Dept. of Health reports there have been 1,137,415 total testing encounters.

The term “testing encounters” includes individuals who have been tested more than once due to their profession, high-risk status or need for a negative result to return to work. The health department started using this metric on May 1. To learn more, click here.
