CHRIS: THE PENNSYLVANIA LICENSED BEVERAGE AND TAVERN ASSOCIATION IS ADVOCATING TO HELP SMALL BUSINESS TAVERNS AND RESTAURANTS. RIGHT NOW, JOBS ARE ON THE LINE. IT IS TRYING TO PUSH FOR SOME KIND OF RECOVERY AND SURVIVAL PROGRAM TO HELP THESE BUSINESSES OUT. A REPRESENTATIVE SAID OF THE DIFFERENT RESTAURANTS AND BUSINESSES THEY REPRESENT, 150,000 PEOPLE ARE EMPLOYED STATE WIDE. IT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO PRESERVE JOBS. THEY HAVE SOME RECOMMENDATIONS. IT THAT INCLUDES PASSING LEGISLATION TO PROVIDE GRANTS TO HELP WITH COVID-19 RELATED LOSS, ELIMINATING LICENSE FEES, SURCHARGES FOR LACES THAT SERVE LIQUOR FOR TWO YEARS. Pennsylvania Licensed Beverage and Tavern Association says jobs are on the line

The Pennsylvania Licensed Beverage and Tavern Association is taking its push for a survival and recovery program for small business taverns and restaurants to Harrisburg.Members of the group will make their case before a Pennsylvania state house committee on Tuesday morning.The push comes amid COVID-19 mitigation efforts that have impacted the industry.A PLBTA representative said restaurants and taverns in their group employ 150,000 people across the commonwealth and something needs to be done to preserve these businesses and save jobs.Their recommendations include grants for the businesses to help with COVID-19-related revenue loss, eliminating license fees and surcharges for places that serve liquor for two years and allowing mixed drinks to go as a permanent practice in Pennsylvania.
