Somerset police are investigating after a 1,500 pound Holstein cow was stolen and butchered on the side of the road.
This happened on Pennwood Farms in Somerset County between 2 a.m and 5 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the thief or thieves somehow got the cow to the side of the road, sliced its throat and then butchered the cow and fled the scene.
The thief or thieves removed the hind quarters, front shoulders and ear tags from the cow.

There is a possible reward for the arrest and conviction of the thief or thieves.
