The West Hartford Fire Department responded to a house fire call on Wednesday night,and received some unexpected help before they arrived on scene. 

Fire crews were dispatched to 93 North Main Street in West Hartford on Wednesday evening for a residential fire at 9:43pm.

According to officials, good samaritans driving by saw the fire and assisted the two occupants in the home to escape before the fire crew arrived. 

The fire damaged part of the back-end of the home on the second floor. 

The West Hartford Fire Department were able to put out the fire quickly permitting the cold weather conditions. 

Officials have not reported any injuries and are investigating what caused the fire.
