State lawmakers will be briefed on the state of Connecticut’s finances and what to expect over the coming years in a report scheduled to be presented on Tuesday.
Office of Policy and Management Secretary Ben Barnes and Office of Fiscal Analysis Director Neil Ayers are scheduled to make a presentation Tuesday on the new 2018 Fiscal Accountability Report.
Required by state law, the annual report analyzes issues affecting spending and revenue for the current two-year budget and the three succeeding fiscal years.
The report projects the current fiscal year will end with a nearly $255 million dollar operating surplus.
The report warns of future challenges including federal Medicaid funds.
