Funding has been made available from the federal government after storms came through Mississippi late February and March.

President Donald Trump ordered Federal assistance to supplement State and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding from February 22 to March 29, 2019.

This assistance includes the EF-2 tornado that made its way through the city Columbus. Counties that are receiving the assistance are Calhoun, Chickasaw, Clay, Grenada, Lowndes, Pontotoc and Tishomingo.
