Due to COVID, Frankfort parks and rec cancels fall sports leagues

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Frankfort Parks, Recreation, and Historic Sites has made the decision to suspend fall sport leagues.

This cancellation will apply to youth baseball, t-ball, and softball programs, the city city in a Facebook post.

Adult sport leagues will be cancelled, as well.

Anyone who has paid for any sports program for 2020 will receive a full refund from the City of Frankfort. Staff is currently processing these refunds and will issue them as soon as possible. according to the Facebook post.

“During these unprecedented times, the health and safety of staff, players, coaches, and families is the top priority and at this time, the City of Frankfort and the Office of Emergency Management have determined the cancellation is the safest course of action,” the rec department said.
