CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) — With the economic uncertainties from the coronavirus, we here at ABC 27 are shining a light on businesses that are doing their part to help out the community while keeping their business open.

"It's friendly, it's got me on the right track, I feel healthier, I have more energy," said Zoe Mansfield, member of Body Tek 24-hour Fitness Center.

Working out is part of Zoe Mansfield's daily routine.

"I entered in the senior games in Tallahassee and I won two gold medals for deadlifting and bench press," said Mansfield.

She credits this place, Body Tek 24-hour Fitness Center, for helping her achieve her goals.

The oldest gym in Crawfordville re-opened In late May with new safety guidelines, including increased sanitation, temperature checks, and social distancing measures.

"We make sure they are sanitizing the equipment and then we go behind them and sanitize the equipment. Showers aren't open yet but we're slowly getting everything used to it. It's a new world," said Pam Chichester, Co-owner of Body Tek 24-hour Fitness Center.

One way they've continued pushing their members to work out is by moving group classes outdoors.

"We usually have about 20-24 people in our classes. there just wasn't enough room, so we had to think of something else to do. so the outside parking lot is ours, so we thought well we'll put it outside," said Chichester.

And members appreciate this step they're taking to keep everyone safe.

"We're all with the same equipment and never kind of switching and sharing, so that we're not spreading germs or anything like that. So it's a lot more sanitary outside now with everything that's going on, so that's how it's different, but it's still really fun," said Marisabelle Poucher, member of Body Tek 24-hour Fitness Center.

"Being able to get in here, put a little sweat equity in, kind of just clears your head and makes you feel better," said Cale Langston, member of Body Tek 24-hour Fitness Center.

Even during a pandemic, Body Tek is still benefiting its members, owners and the Crawfordville community.

"Every time I come to another class I'm seeing more and more people participating and joining which is just great for the gym and great for moral within our town," said Kathryn Aguiar, member of Body Tek 24-hour Fitness Center.
