Jordan is being held in the Shelby County jail on a $500,000 bond.—Thursday, Nov. 21Four teenagers from Pleasant Grove have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old Birmingham high school student.The Shelby County Sheriff's Office announced the arrests Thursday afternoon. Here's the news release shared on social media:"On October 20th, 2019, at approximately 1:46 AM, Shelby County 911 received a call about a noise complaint at the Sonesta Extended Stay Suites at 3 Greenhill Parkway, in the Highway 280 corridor of Northern Shelby County. Deputies responded to the area to investigate and located 17-year-old Stanley M. Turner II, deceased in the parking lot in his vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound. Investigators from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and began their investigation into the death. Sheriff’s Office Investigators with the assistance of other agencies have spent countless hours working this case with the goal of holding the individuals involved accountable for this unnecessary death. Through their diligent investigation the death has been determined to be a homicide during the commission of a robbery."The investigation led to the arrests of the following individuals:"Jakobi C. Witherspoon, 18 years of age from Pleasant Grove, has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree, and is being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000."Aja Kylandrea Brenee Whitt, 17 years of age from Pleasant Grove, has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree as an adult, and is being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000."Jamaal Antowain Phillips, 17 years of age from Pleasant Grove, has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree as an adult. He was arrested and subsequently released from the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000."A male juvenile has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree, and is being held in the Shelby County Youth Detention Center."This investigation has been a collaborative effort by multiple law enforcement agencies.
