ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – A Massachusetts probation officer was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly stalking a Connecticut State Police trooper in Enfield.

Thirty-two-year-old Marcus Cameron has now been charged with stalking third degree. Massachusetts Probation Service spokesperson Coria Holland confirmed to 22News that Cameron is a two-year probation officer at Springfield District Court. He is currently on paid leave pending a review.

According to court documents from Enfield District Court, Cameron and the male trooper were former neighbors in Enfield. Cameron allegedly filed complaints against the trooper in May after a conversation about driving in the neighborhood.

Court documents indicate the trooper reported that Cameron drove past his home multiple times in a short span after the incident, in what he thought was an attempt to intimidate him after filing the report.

The two reportedly had no interaction since May until a November incident in which Cameron allegedly followed the state police trooper throughout Enfield, at times pulling over until the trooper passed him and continuing to follow him.

“The complaints filed by Cameron were found to be unfounded by the State Police investigation and they suspected Cameron may have been recently notified about the status of the case,” an officer wrote in a police report about the incident.

According to court documents, Cameron was served with a civil protection order after the incident. An arrest warrant was later issued for Cameron’s arrest after failed attempts to get him to speak with police.
