Springfield’s Hungry Hill Senior Center helped Florence Alessandri celebrate her 100th birthday Thursday.
Mayor Domenic Sarno dropped by the senior center to help wish Florence happy birthday and to read a proclamation in her honor.
The newest member of the Centarian Club told 22News, she stays young by keeping active at home.
“Well I ride the bicycle, I wash dishes, do little things,” said Florence, who describes herself as a homebody. “There’s a lot to be done and I keep myself busy.”
Florence Alessandri still resides in the Hungry Hill home where she was born 100 years ago.
