According to the district attorney’s office, the investigation began in Canada in 2017 when police arrested an individual, seized a computer and determined that person had been exchanging pornography with someone in the United States.

COVINGTON, La. — A Covington lawyer who pleaded guilty to more than two dozen child pornography charges was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday, according to the District Attorney of Washington and St. Tammany parishes.

Victor Loraso, 38, pleaded guilty to four counts of distribution of pornography of children under 13 and one count of distribution of pornography of children under 17. He also entered pleas to 13 counts of possession of child pornography of children under 13 and eight counts of possession of child pornography of children under 17.

According to the district attorney's office, the investigation began in Canada in 2017 when police arrested an individual, seized a computer and determined that person had been exchanging pornography with someone in the United States.

The investigation was turned over to the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, which tracked the material to a computer owned by Loraso.

Officials with the DA’s office said Loraso admitted that his computer had online accounts on which he chatted with pedophiles about a desire to molest children.
