STATE OF EMERGENCY IN THAT CITY. WELL, THE PRESIDENT IS CRITICIZING HOW MANY OF THE NATION’S OTHERS ARE RESPONDING TO PROTESTS ALL ACROSS THE U.S. CALLING SOME OF THEM WEAK AND URGING THEM TO DOMINATE TO PREVENT ANY MORE VIOLENCE GOVERNOR ROY COOPER WAS ON THE CALL WHEN THE PRESIDENT MADE THOSE COMMENTS AND TODAY OUR GOVERNOR USED A VERSE FROM JESUS SERMON ON THE MOUNT IN THE BOOK OF MATTHEW TO SHARE HOW HE THINKS THE STATE HAS RESPONDED TO THE SITUATION. IN THAT SERMON. HE SAID BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS. I THINK IT TAKES LEADERS OF STRENGTH TO BE PEACEMAKERS. AND RIGHT NOW WE NEED LEADERS OF STRENGTH WHO CAN HEAR EVERYBODY. AND WHO CAN BE PEACEMAKERS IN THIS STATE AND IN THIS COUNTRY BECAUSE OUR STATE AND OUR COUNTRY NEED HEALING WE HAVE A LOT GOING ON. North Carolina governor Roy Cooper spoke out Tuesday after President Donald Trump criticized how some state leaders are responding to George Floyd protests across America.Trump called them "weak" and urged them to "dominate" to prevent more violence.Cooper was on the calls when the president made the comments.In his response, the governor used a verse from Jesus' "Sermon on the Mount" in the book of Matthew to share how he thinks the state has responded to the situation."In that sermon he said 'Blessed are the peacemakers,'" Cooper said. "I think it takes leaders of strength to be peacemakers -- strength moving forward trying to bring us together."Cooper also told protesters that he hears them and he's listening. He said he wants to help make necessary changes.
